Ibn Abbas narrated: “The Messenger of Allah (Sallal lahu alaihi wasallam) passed by the graves of Al-Madinah, so he turned his face towards them and said:
السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمُ يَا أَهْلَ الْقُبُورِ يَغْفِرُ اللهُ لَنَا وَلَكُمْ أَنْتُمُ سَلَفُنَا وَنَحْنُ بِالْأَثَرِ
